Polycarbonate

PC can be obtained either as a disc or a technical PC semi-finished product.

PCs in plates are most used for transparent impact resistant shields or windows (clear or colored).

Technical PC can be machined to components, can also be fiberglass reinforced.

Linatex supplies both semi-finished and finished products, as required. Documentation for quality and short delivery times makes Linatex a good partner.

What is PC used for

Application temperature usually from -40 ° C up to 115 ° C.
Short-term up to approx. 130 ° C
Density usually approx. 1.2 g/cmᶟ

Advantages:

  • Extremely high impact strength even at low temperatures
  • Dimensional stable material
  • Good dielectric properties
  • Good creep resistance in dry air
  • Can be armored with eg. fiberglass
  • Good weather resistance (UV types)
  • Resistant to weak acids, aliphatic hydrocarbons, paraffin, alcohols (without methanol), animal and vegetable oils and fats

Limitations:

Can not be used in hot water above 60 ° C (continuous).

Attacked by oxidizing acids, bases, ammonia, methanol, aromatic and chlorinated hydrocarbons.

Applications:

Impeller, propeller, protective helmet, vandal-proof windows, car lights, insulator, electric luminaires, contact lenses, relays, etc.

Linatex is a member of EPDA and IAPD and is subject to ongoing control by the Danish Food Administration

Linatex uses a Zeiss 3D measuring machine to ensure that deliveries meet the desired dimensions.
